RE: TRAVEL TRAILER RATINGS/?

Do a Google search on the internet. You will find some books, some are downloadable. All are for $$.

RE: CHP and Towing Violations on CA Highways

I've never been stopped, but last month at a truck show, I asked a CHP Commercial officer what determines max allowable weight on a TV. He told me tire load ratings and/or GAWR determines max allowable weight, not GVWR, in CA.
So with my TV, I can legally load the rear axle up to 6084# in CA. My last scale weight w/5er attached was front=4110#, rear=4960#.
Thanks to all for the inputs. Maybe we will eventually collect some additional "it really happened to me stories".

CHP and Towing Violations on CA Highways

Who has been stopped by the CHP in California while towing a TT or Fiver for weight/load/length/operator's license related issues? What was the situation that caused them to stop you - what did they observe/what were you doing? How was the weight/load/length/operator's license issue resolved - what did the CHP use or reference to determine that you were or were not in compliance or legal?
Thanks,
Gib

Largest Refrigerator Option in a Travel Trailer

We often have our son and his family (4) plus the two of us. When we pack food for the 4-5 day outing our current 8 cu. ft. Dometic just doesn't have enough space. We are considering a new TT purchase and would love to have a 12 cu. ft. 4-door refrigerator but do not know if any TT manufacturer offers one as an option (have seen them as an option in many fivers). A second choice would be the option of two 8 or 10 cu. ft. refrigerators in a TT.
Anyone have any insight on this subject?
Thanks in advance.

RE: CARDINAL OR CEDAR CREEK BOTH BY FOREST RIVER

Based on my personal experience with my Cedar Creek, I could not in good conscience recommend the brand to anyone. Not conjecture, but actual results with problems and problems.

RE: Microwave Oven Died (OTR with Exhaust Fan)

Update -
Contacted Magic Chef. The magnetron tube is guaranteed for 5 years. They sent me a new one. It was relatively straight forward to install. My son and I did it ourselves. Works like new again.

Microwave Oven Died (OTR with Exhaust Fan)

Our "elegant" Magic Chef OTR Microwave stopped cooking -- lights and turntable work, but does not cook. Where do I buy a new one that vents to the outside? Have done internet searches, plus RV Supply stores, but cannot find one.
Also need a replacement vent for the outside wall, where the OTR microwave exhaust fan air exits. The current one has the "flapper" inside and it broke - how do the newer louvered ones work? Need a white one the will not yellow with age or sunlight.
Thanks in advance.
